Hey guyz, im cycling a 30l tank to get some rcs in it. The tank is almost cycled and im thinking of getting them next week.
I have tested the water and the kH is at 9 and ph is 7 (i have yet to buy a gh test as i bought the jbl pack and didnt realise it does not include gh). I have read about parameter for neo carodina and they say that the hardier the water the better. But i have also read that the water can be too hard which will make it hard for them to molt.
What would you recommend for the parameters ? And how much should i start as a basic colony?
Astaxanthin is a carotenoid pigment family, it is contained in some types of microalgae in salmon and shrimp, lobster. Of these, he was first identified in 1938. Interestingly, before application in pharmacology, Astaxanthin was used (and is used) as an additive to fish food on farms. This gives a "noble" red shade to the meat of cheap fish since it is a natural RED pigment.
Idea: Astaxanthin can be found in its pure form. Dilute in water and soak in it a leaf of almonds or oak. Then feeds your Cherrys, Sakuras and Fires. Again and again. Will pigmentation become more intense?
If anyone did so, please share your experience
Sorry for my English😄
I currently have a Fluval Spec V which is my shrimp tank, stocked with 20~ Cherry Shrimp, 1 Orange Rili (berring when I bought her and successfully birthed fry), and 2 Crystal Blacks.
Last week I ordered 20 Assorted Rili Neo Davidi Male Shrimp (I thought I was ordering a mix of Males & Females, sadly mistaken). I also ordered the Dennerle/Shrimp King 10g (Shrimp King Tank) to put them in seperate from my Cherry Shrimp tank.
My question is this…
I want to interbreed these Rili shrimp and in order to do that I will need to purchase a “Breeder Combo Pack” (10 female & 5 male) but I do not know what would be the best option to go with to breed with the 20 Assorted Rili Neo Davidi Male Shrimp that I already have coming.
Only options that guarantee females:
— Neon Yellow (Neocaridia Davidi)
— Orange Sakura (Neocaridia Davidi)
— Sky Blue Velvet (Neocaridia Davidi)
— Golden Back Yellow (Neocaridia Davidi)
((Other Freshwater Shrimp from AquaticArts))
I am looking to buy from AquaticArts because they have reasonable prices and I trusted shipping methods, but if anyone knows another source to purchase from that would have better options for what I am trying to do I would be grateful for that information
Ive been doing my own research to see how interbreeding will turn out but is such a very in depth and situational topic, and I know if I get the wrong type of Neocaridia davidi then it would be possible that one gene is more dominate and would possibly just end up being all one color.
Can I please have your opinions?
Hi guys, ive recently joined this forum. I am perth WA based. I have been keeping blue cherry and sulawesis in total of 3 years. Am somewhat experienced and would love to hear what rare species you have!
I am hoping to get some aura blue tigers. I hope someone in perth, WA has them and is willing to sell!
I accidently posted twice!
Take a look at the videos I uploaded. I was trying the macro adapters for my camera but its pretty hard to get sharp images, especially when subject is moving. The second video with the Neon Yellow looks sharper.
By the way, does the yellow seem like a male? I thought its a female because of the saddle, but now I see the belly is straight.
