No problem.

Not dimmed I just turned in on for the picture. It ramps up like the sun is rising when it first comes on. If I was building my rack over I would probably use this system and get the largest power supply they have. It's a module system so you can just keep adding tubes as you expand.

Yeah I've seen and spoken to MakeMyLed, they seem awesome! Do you have a picture of that one when it's ramped up?

Will snap one for you tomorrow.

i think if you're after a few lights this is a good option because a 90cm tube is around $60

I have one 160WE Kessel on a goose neck over my reclaimed reef tank. Not the best photo but you get the idea. I trimmed and replanted the Milfoil today so its all the same height now. Have Tangerine Tigers and Sunkist Cherries in there. Substrate is a pool sand layer followed by ADA Amazonia.

I use pro z for my 4 ft and 1.5 ft and Hagen GLO (T5 tubes) for my 2ft. I'm actually in the market for another light for my 4 ft so I'm very keen to see what other members have!

How deep is your 4ft?

I've got a maxspect glaive 1000mm on my tank currently and it will go onto my 5x2x2

It's only 1ft deep. With 2ft, you'll definitely need to get at least 2.

image.jpegI have a third turned off as it was making too much algae. These are 3W Cree LEDs, the reds are 3W Osram. All selected as they were the correct spectrum.

image.jpeg

I use a day/night controller which simulates sunrise to sunset. Each driver controls a third of the LEDs with one spare. Yeah it's running at 50% of its potential capacity.

Excellent @NoGi!

Got any full tank shots and where did you get your sunrise/sunset controller from?

I don't have a full tank shot handy but here is the controller in action on my previous tank setup:

From memory I got it from RapidLED in the states but that was a while ago.

I've been using some 30watt 6500K Landscape spotlights for two months. They seem to be growing my plants(and algae) pretty well, but I'm curious how they would compare to some LEDs made specifically for aquatic plants. Has anyone used these before?

Interesting @Caelum. Do you find that algae gets out of control in your first tank? Those floodlights seem real bright!

Here is a photos to show the lights lighting up my tanks, the top is the aqua zonic super bright and the bottom one is the Chihiros. Note the Chihiros is dimmable and I probably had it set at a med or low brightness when I took the pic. Let me know if you would like photos of the actual lighting units themselves.
