LFS gave me this

I've separated the spot fish to a HOB box with air stone. Painted the solution directly to the affected area as well as using the prescribed amount of drops.

They also gave me a wide range antibiotic in tablet form. I used a 16th of a tablet (1 tablet treats 40L)

So I dissolved it and added to hospital tank.

I may treat whole tank with tablets

I'd say you'll be covered using these...please just follow the instructions for repeat doses. When treating with antibiotics I treat for 10 days (water changes daily) most antibiotics don't kill the bacteria they just stop replication and spreading so the original bacteria population just disappears. As long as he will still eat, should be fine. If you have Artemia on the go you can medicate these with standard dose antibiotics in a beaker for 4- 6hrs and then feed to your sick boy.

Thanks for the kind words!

I think he is coming good. Spot is still there but doesn't look as bad as it did.

Ended up treating the whole tank with the anti biotic as a precaution.

If anyone ever needs Tertacycline: I erroneously bought 3 bottles full of Aquari-cycline instead of three tablets. Just let me know and I will post them to whomever needs it- I can't see postage being more than $5.

Fox puppet, if you want to increase numbers you have to use a dedicated egg collector as the adults love to eat eggs and fry. Some will survive but if you want to increase numbers...

Good to see things going well again fox. Well done mate. :) I may hit you up in the near future for a bit of a trade, or a buy to increase my numbers... Not sure how many I have left, and am moving in a couple of weeks time so will do a head count on all fish then. Too busy with a new born right now!! Hehe.

I got a second Pine coned CPD which is very disheartening. Same one that had the spot previously. But it's been healthy ever since then. Only thing I did was a water change last weekend and fed the orca brand blood worms this weekend.

I have separated it and treated with same mess as last round. Didn't have them in time to try on previously pine coned fish before it died.... Fingers crossed!

Nice shots. Do they snack on shrimp?

I wouldn't put it past them but they are in a species tank. Well actually there are cherries in there but only culls and the numbers are going up so it can't be that bad.

How are the CPDs going mate? Still breeding?

We went away on holidays so I moved all my cpd into the community tank in the house to give the house sitter an easier time, they are loving the new home, but no breeding yet. I spotted some fry a few weeks back but have not seen them since.
I'm hoping to give them a good run at it once the new tanks are up and running.

Have not seen any fry for quite a while, just did a water change today and have spotted 6 fry swimming amongst the plants, hopefully they can make it!

You need to feed them some baby brine shrimp.

To encourage breeding or fry survival?
