[ATTACH=CONFIG]972[/ATTACH]Hi All, a couple of months ago I posted a picture of one of my cherry juveniles that was white. Here is the latest picture of that shrimp matured. I have now 5 of this colour all a little smaller than this one. Can't wait to get some more.

I believe they are called "Snowballs". Nice work Wayne! Cherries are the full colour spectrum :)

not snow ball shrimp mate, snowball shrimp are "Neocaridina cf. zhangjiajiensis"

as these shrimp are breed from Red cherry shrimp they are "Neocaridina heteropoda"

Hi bluebolts, these cherries are not clear but more opaque! I have been watching them for ages they start off clearish and then fill in with white, it does not look at this stage as a carapace colour like CRS/CBS but more internal, as they are still fairly young I will have to wait until they mature a little more. The one pictured has some light stripes across it's back and a dark grey ovum! My tanks are out side and it is hard to get good pictures I intend to try and get some shots tonight under the tank light. At this stage I am claiming them to be Neocaridina Hetropoda var white. Is there anyone near the gold coast who is good at photography? I would love to get some good pictures of them.

Just bumping this thread as I can't see the photos. I have a tank of blue gene red Rilis. These have given me red Rilis, blue gene red Rilis and blue Velvets. Today I noticed in their tank several interesting things. First I have several white shrimp in this tank one looks to be a female just starting to get a saddle her body is white/opaque with a white patch near the head and a white bit that looks like the saddle starting up, I have also seen several even younger babies that appear opaque / white but still a bit young. The next interesting thing is Rilis usually have red, blue/green or yellow saddles and eggs yet a few of my breeding girls have started getting white saddles and one has white eggs. I haven't introduced new blood and my initial stock came from one of Dean's sales early last year. The girls with the white saddle and eggs have given me the Blue Velvet shrimp which I have separated and now working on intensifying the blue.I only noticed these shrimp because I can finally can see shrimp properly in my new tanks. It seems strange that the saddles have started to change at the same time. Anyone else have this happening? I intend to catch them out, photograph them and isolate them in a new tank - just need to make sure the tank has cycled properly, so will try and do it tomorrow and post the pictures. Just wondering there is a reason ie dietary or water conditions or just a natural change

Thanks for that , what are your babies like? Are you getting white eggs and white babies? Luckily I have a few spare tanks so I can try to breed them to see if they will breed true :)

No I have done much shrimp gazing and never seen these white saddles and eggs. I will definitely catch them tomorrow and post the pictures of the saddled girls and the ones with white eggs .

the saddles are white on my berried girls. The Rilis breed constantly so I might be able to get results quickly.

Sorry Wayne I should have started a new thread but wanted to be able to compare what I'm finding with yours once the pictures can be seen again

I had trouble with the camera making the white look more yellow anyway these are the best I could do. Yesterday I was giving my community tank a tidy up and found a pure white female berried with white eggs. I have popped her in a tank with the whitest male I have so when she is ready at least there will be a white male to breed back to. I will try and get a picture of her tomorrow - she is definitely white it is not the white shrimp get can get when sick . There are quite a few younger cherries in the big tank that are very white too but not as good as this girl. :)

Wow, with with white eggs ? Awesome...I've had some cherry culls that were white, but had brown/yellow eggs.... Yes, pics please

It would be good to see a breeding program with these.

I noticed a couple in my cull tank before I shut it down, at first I assumed they were all male but there was one female.

I'd have to say more opaque than white.

I will catch her out today -I have her in a small tank. I have noticed a lot of my female rilis have white saddles lately so perhaps the gene is spreading. I have caught out a couple before but the went a very pale blue almost like my Blue Velvet but much paler. This one has stayed white for a while as I had glimpses of her in the large tank. Don't know who she mated with but will be interesting to see the babies. If she stays white I will definitely try and breed more.

Mick this one is very white not opaque infact yesterday Eshrimp and his wife were over and we were trying to see if she is albino but just couldn't makeout the eye colour. I think they are black but once I get her out hopefully the camera will show them true .
