Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Have prepared a small write up regarding the requirement of trace elements for shrimps.

Ulli Bauer have helped me a lot in finalizing it.

Please go through the document once you have time.

If any one have any valid points to add please let me know, I will add it into the document and acknowledgment will be given to you.

nice, im sure @jayc will know if anything needs adding :P

but number 5 'copper' "Copper is on the one hand absolutely essential for shrimp as their blood cells are based on copper"

i just thought copper was just bad for them outright

@Abhishek you have missed one macro nutrient/mineral.

Potassium!

Apart from phosphorus and calcium, potassium (K) is the third most abundant mineral in shrimps.

You can research the benefits of potassium for your blog.

Another feedback for your article ... tell the reader where to get those macro and trace elements. Should I feed it ? Should I dose it? - in general, macro elements needs to be provided in food and dosed in to the water for absorption.

Trace elements can be provided in food alone.

Any article that tells us about the important nutrients for shrimps, but does not tell us where to find it is only half complete.

@jayc

Thanks Jay I will browse and update it :)

About where to get it, I wanted it to be free from any kind of commercial attachment. If I have mentioned that food, liquid dosing can help you getting the trace elements then people would have asked which brand of food or mineral I recommend, that might give a certain commercial angle to it.
But if you still feel I should include that would surely add it up.
