Why are my Shrimp going crazy?

So here is a video of what is happening

 

i was watching them for about 20 mins and they kept going, id say over 30 mins as i didnt see the start of it, could be alot longer. Edit - 2 hours later some still going nuts lol.

they are just swimming around going nuts, is this there mating dance or something?

anyway after 20 mins i saw them starting to attack one, my guess is that it was a female, i saw her molt while 3 shrimp were attacking her, after that they kept picking on her abit, she looked exhausted... she kept swimming to the top of the tank and then falling back down, upside down, she did this couple of times and shrimp attacked her alittle so i though, id make them stop, so i gave them food, this seemed to help, i also decided to catch her and put her in a net at the top of the tank with a rock, so she cant get picked on, ill see if she has removed by tomorrow, im giver her a 50/50 chance of being alive.

 

now one more thing, i can force them to do this dance, i found out when i decide to clean my filter, just having the water stop moving they start going crazy as well, here is a video of that, it is 30 mins long but just skip along and you will see

but as soon as the pump goes on they kinda stop and go back to normal, so i guess its about different from the first one, since thats been going for 2 hours now...

at the 15 min mark they start going crazy :P

Most people will say it's because a female has moulted but it looks like all your shrimp are doing it. First I suggest you do a water test for ph, ammonia and nitrates as a minimum in case there has been a spike of some sort. Have you done anything different, sprayed the house , flea bombs, paint etc? Have you done anything to the tank, water change , added something, fed veggies that may be contaminated, used something on your hands like oil or soap or aftershave. Recently someone had sprayed their house with pesticide and had a very similar reaction so think what has happened in the last few hours

Sorry to go off topic from the original post but Ineke did the person who sprayed the pestide have the inside or outside done?

He was spraying outside but didn't cover his tank , the fumes must have entered the house - he may have brought it in on his clothes. He lost the lot unfortunately

what do you put with the water when you do water changes? any black water products?

my shrimp dance when i add IAL tea ( black water) to the tanks

You need to add Blackwater products slowly or well mixed with the new water as it lowers the ph which may affect the shrimp until it's mixed with the tank water thoroughly.

I've only seen similar during mating. Well I think it was mating.

I have also seen my CRS go nuts and attack a female shrimp. I was too late to save it unfortunately. Did not have time to grab a camera either.

I'm equally in the dark about what happened. Never saw it happen again.

there was no spray or anything, so just started randomly as far as i know

well i have 2 videos, the one that lasted 1 min they are more active, where the one where i change my filter they are more chill, both are weird, and more weird i can make it happen

 

Update - the shrimp seem to be back to normal today, the female i put in a net decided she would climb out of the net...so i got no idea if she is alive...

this is how the net was, but there was glass ontop of it. the sides of the net was out of the water as you can see, i did have something for the shrimp to hide in, but took that out, so i have no idea how she got out, there are no holes in the net and there was hardly any room at the top of the net and between the glass, but she still magically got out...

 

so i guess shrimp can move out of water kinda

and the second video just, them bored coz no water movement? although i do notice they like to hide in the corners of the tank when this happens

Yes it's mating for sure. look at the first video from 0:30 typical a male who is in pursuit of a female (of what he thinks is a female).

Oh and the second video is different. This is a something that happens here too. The sudden stop of current gives them something to start moving around. Not sure why, a sudden drop of O2 is not possible I think. Must be something else, the sudden change of their environment, start looking for a safe spot? Like in the wild, when the current of a small stream stops, something must be going on and the will search for deeper water?
