Great!

Perhaps you could remove the "header row" (cull-championship) from all the boxes apart from the top row of each page so that each page contains a single "grid" rather than  7 and 6 separate grids.  Its a lot of space given to repeated information,  It might allow you to squeeze them up a bit or maybe even fit the half moon on pg1 to have more room on the second page to make the text at the end slightly bigger.   Currently I cant read the descriptions easily when zoomed in as far as my browser will allow.  Printed bigger is a different animal so this comment might not apply.

Having the many repeated fading headers as it is now also emphases an optical illusion of a white overlay being applied with increasing intensity from right to left which for me distracts a little from the main point which is the shrimp colours are paler.

I like it as is too...

I don't find these pictures are showing the transparency enough.

Often, the lower the grade, the more transparent the colours. That is, you don't get a solid red or white colour, and you can see more internal organs.

Like the following examples (borrowed from the web) ...

low grade tiger tooth

gradeb.thumb.jpg.79996391b15817cf84e013f

notice the transparent parts where it should be white?

And notice the red on the head is not solid but transparent?

Notice the spotted red colour?

And the red and white colours bleeding into each other. ie, red showing where the band should be all white, and vice versa.

Legs are all transparent and devoid of colour.

versus

high grade tiger tooth

gradeS4.thumb.jpg.d0c7ba4179a4cad5585b8d

Where as this high grade specimen shows solid whites.

Solid reds.

No transparency.

White bands don't show any red, and red bands don't show any whites.

Legs showing good colour.

I like that NoGi... but now I cant read the names of the varieties in red.  I'd also move the red stripe (the names) to the right side to put the name next to the championship quality animal since thats what people are aiming for.  Don't feel you need to listen to me (I dont even keep any fancy shrimp)  :D

I'll see what he comes back with regarding transparency, but we can defiantly cater for when we include actual photos.

O wow, did not checked this topic yet. But for a drawing this is an excellent way to show the difference in quality. Of course in real life a cull can have almost no white, but good red, but for the sake of information, this is very good approach.

I think we are there. I'll update the first post with full poster as soon as I get it.

@jayc drawing transparencies is always going to get difficult, I'm hoping the follow-up poster with actual photos will resolve that issue.

I understand. Yes, a transparent drawing would have been a little difficult to portray.

And draft version to include with actual photos. If you have good quality macros please send them to me, without watermark as I'll add them in during post processing. Just let me know what to say in the watermark.

OK guys, I need some photos now to start filling in the chart.

Shrimp should be posed in the same way the drawn image is. No watermark as I may need to crop image to fit. I'll be applying watermark after editing so let me know what name to use for acknowledgement

OK guys let’s get this poster finished off. Missing images that I am looking for are:

  • CBS – cull & high
  • Snow White – cull, medium & high
  • Golden Bee - cull

@Shrimpmaster, @Shrimpy Daddy tagging you two in case you have some more nice pictures for me 8-)

Good to give a reminder. I think I will be able to shoot one or two of this list. Will try to do this weekend, let you know! :)

Found a Crystal black cull one, see attachment.

Got some pictures of a golden one, but not cull enough, so that one is already covered.

Got a nice Snow White which could be something, but it's a very planted tank, so still looking for a good shot.

Ok, the golden is attached.

Also a shot of another crystal black, maybe for high temporarily. I don't think it is, I even had to play a little with the colors to improve, but maybe you can use this one for the time being until somebody can provide a better one.
